our photos
This vibrant exhibition is a retrospective of creative work by Somerset artist Alison Jacobs. Alison is one of our favourite artists having exhibited at Ginger Fig since we opened in January 2008. Whilst she is best known for her fine animal studies, her work is far more diverse and includes landscapes and self portraits. The launch evening was a riotous success and was very well attended. The Mayor and Mayoress of Taunton came along to wish Alison well and kindly took part in a photo opportunity for Alison's fundraising efforts for the Disasters Emergency Committee's East Africa appeal. She put up for auction on Ebay one of her beautiful calf canvases which was successfully bid for by Laura Seymour. And for the duration of the exhibition we are holding a prize draw to raise further funds - Alison has kindly donated a framed cow print - so come along and make a donation, you never know you might win! Finally we owe a big thank you to Sally Howell-Bewsey aka The Cupcake Artisan for some stupendous cow-themed cupcakes for our launch evening - they really were delicious.
