A Flock of Birds

Our Birds & Bees Exhibition is now well under way. Our preview evening was a great success with lots of people braving the wintery weather to join us for a first look at the work not to mention a glass of wine. We had quite a number of sales on the evening and that continued over the weekend.

If you haven't been in to see the exhibition so far then please try and pop in over the next few weeks. We have work from Alison Jacobs, Jackie Curtis, Lucy Little and many other talented artists from the South West. Needle felted birds, a wonderful wooden bowl full of eggs, wire sculpture, linoprints, paintings, papercuts and some quirky paper mache figures are just a few of the works for sale. We are also delighted to show work from a number of local schools and community groups. For example you can see work by pupils of Wembdon St George and Trinity Primary Schools and members of the 1st Bishops Hull Brownies and the Albemarle Centre. I'm sure you will be as impressed as we have been by the hard work and thought that has gone into their exhibits.

The exhibition runs until 9th February and is open during normal shop hours.

We are closing the shop and gallery on Monday 4th February so that we can travel up to the NEC spring fair to buy lots of new stock for shop. Apologies if you were intending to visit the exhibition on that day but it can't be helped. We don't want to miss out on the chance to offer our customers the latest products from designers like Mini Moderns and Tom Frost!

Preview Evening

Our  Birds and Bees Exhibition starts next week. Join us for a drink on our Preview Evening and be one of the first to see this exciting collection of work by local artists, schools and community groups.

The Birds and the Bees

...and butterflies, bugs and other beautiful things...

Help us celebrate the 5th birthday of Ginger Fig Gallery

Our 'Birds and Bees' exhibition in January 2013 is open to all local individuals and organisations, artists, schools and community groups.

When we celebrated our 3rd birthday with the 'Gingerbread Man' exhibition we had HUNDREDS of entries - and we'd really like to beat that.

We will welcome entries in any media, so take up your paint brushes, cameras and knitting needles; oil your printing presses or potters wheels; get your sewing machines whirring and put your imagination to work.

For more information either pop into ginger fig, call, email, tweet or facebook us as soon as possible, ideally by 14th December 2012.

5th Birthday Celebrations

On Friday 26th October Ginger Fig Gifts is 5 years old. Come and help us celebrate with CAKE, balloons and a free prize draw. The winner of the draw will receive a £20 gift voucher to spend in the shop.

At the end of January Ginger Fig Gallery will also be celebrating it's 5th year. Many of you will remember the Gingerbread Man Exhibition held at the end of our first year. We will soon be announcing the theme of a new exhibition. Once again we would like entries from local artists, schools and community groups.

Bath Place leaflet

We are really delighted to say that - at long last - the Bath Place Traders Association has produced a leaflet about the diverse businesses in our lovely little street.  Suffice to say that you should be able to pick up a copy at any of the premises in Bath Place, but it should also be available at the Tourist Information Centres and other places like the Brewhouse Theatre.  We hope you will find it useful!
