Ginger Fig Gallery
I grew up in west Somerset and this is where I first developed my interest in all things creative. In 2005 I gained a BA in Textile Design at Winchester School of Art. I then spent a few years in London where I used the city to visit galleries and exhibitions but soon realised my home was in Somerset and my love for being in the country. I enjoy experimenting with a variety of mixed media and collage to create original designs based from childhood memories and nostalgia. I have memories of church fetes with handmade bunting pinned to the jam and pickle stall and family holidays to the seaside. I also take inspiration from tea parties, quaint villages and all things vintage. I often create individual framed pictures using a combination of different media and techniques including paper and fabric collage, stitch, rubber stamps, transfer embellishments, mono- printing and line drawing.
